Winter nights are cold! So warm jackets and even hats are great addition.

Remember sand gets everywhere so if you have some expensive equipment zip lock bags is to keep it safe from sand grains getting on it.

    Itinerary of the trip

    Day 1Fez – Ifrane – Azrou - MIdelt – Erfourd – Merzouga/ Erg Chebbi

On this private desert tour of Morocco your driver collects you and together you travel South via serpented road under the shades of cedar forest.  Sometimes people refer to this part of Middle Atlas as “Switzerland of Morocco”  – due to the untypical roofs of town in Ifrane and also due to snow.  Ifrane is the prime ski resort in Morocco.  The forests of these mountains area are also home to Barbary macaque.  This whole area is famous for apple , apricot, plum and walnut trees.

As we keep on driving, we reach the old garrison town of Erfourd and then landscape will take sharp turn.

Eventually we reach Merzouga where we continue or change our car for 4WD off road vehicle and continue to the comforts and luxuries of Desert Luxury camp.  Here shelter away from the busy world and enjoy the incredible views of the Sahara Desert.

    Day 2Merzouga/ Erg Chebbi

Day to enjoy the Sahara and the desert activities. Enjoy the typical activities such as camel trekking or add more adrenaline to your day with 4WD off road driving on the desert dunes or ATV riding or fossil searching.

Day 3Merzouga – Todra Gorge – Nekob – Draa Valley

After breakfast on our Morocco tour, we leave for Erfourd and further to Tinerir where not too far from it we visit the natural spectacle of Todra Gorge.  The walls of the gorge emerge from the crystal clear river rising high. The gorge is beautiful any time of the day as the light changes the colors creating a magical effect. We have a chance to stretch our legs here before resuming our drive this time to the Sahro volcanic mountains of superb views! Later we start seeing the palm groves of the Draa oasis and the adobe villages.  Night in ancient Kasbah or luxury villas inside the palm groves.

Day 4Draa Valley - Agdz – Ouarzazate – Ait BenHaddou –Telouet – High Atlas Marrakech

Today we depart after breakfast and keep traveling via the valley and the typical Southern villages. After Agdz we start climbing the baren gorges that will offer us yet other views reaching Ouarzazazate. Later we arrive to Ait Behaddou , the photo perfect Ksar that is so well known from many movies like the Gladiator or Games of Thrones. Have time to explore the Ksar. Then we introduce you to the road of Ounila valley that is another spectacular drive in Morocco especially in early spring when the almonds bloom. Kasbah Telouet will be our next stop, the former pasha Glaoui Kasbah , dominating the village. Visiting Telouet takes you back in time and with a bit of imagination you sense the grandeur of this palace. Then meeting the peak of the mountain pass Tizi ‘n Tichka we start descending over the High Atlas to Marrakech.

Tip:  This trip can be done in reverse starting Marrakech and ending in Fes.
