Great combination tour that includes the Atlantic Coast and Sahara desert. This is a wonderful 4 day desert tour where you spend 2 fabulous nights in the remote desert dunes of Erg Chegaga, and traverse the same ancient caravan route to Marrakech across the breathtaking Draa Valley and the Atlas Mountains.

This tour is not available in July and August. We would not recommend it for young children.
No special equipment needed. Though if you are traveling in summer please bring a hat, sunscreen lotion and sun glasses. For riding camels, longer pants are preferred than shorts/skirts and possibly light sport shoes/tennis rather than sandals that can slip.
Winter nights are cold! So warm jackets and even hats are great addition.
Remember sand gets everywhere so if you have some expensive equipment zip lock bags is to keep it safe from sand grains getting on it.
On this private tour of Morocco, we will collect you early morning as todays drive to the desert dunes of Erg Chigaga is long yet beautiful with an always changing landscape. We will at first travel along the Sous Massa valley that is very fertile, and many farms are located here. This region is mostly known for citrus plants , saffron spices in Taliouline. Then possibly stop in Taznakht if you wish to visit a carpet cooperative. Taznakht town is a typical Berber town where the carpet making tradition is still very strong. Then the landscape will take a change to the Anti Atlas leading us to Foum Zquid. Here we leave the paved road behind and venture for about 2 hours off road driving to the center of the Erg Chigaga desert dunes. On the drive we can view the fata morgana lake of Iriqui.
We arrive to the desert camp just before sunset. We recommend climbing one of the dunes for a memorable sundown followed by dinner and campfire.
Day spend in the wilderness of Erg Chigaga desert dunes with some desert activities plan like the camel trekking.
This morning we take onto another off route through the desert landscape to Mhamid. Here we meet with a tarmac road and continue further North. Today’s drive we go through the Draa Valley home of over 3 million of date palms and hundreds of kasbahs. We make a stop at the famous green glazed pottery in Tamengroute and the ancient Koranic library. Night in 150 year old restored Kasbah or luxury villas in the palm grove oasis.
Today we are on the way to Marrakech and for a treat for some beautiful landscapes!
At first we continue our drive though the adobe like villages and then the valley will be gone as we cross mountains landscape of barren gorges to Ouarzazate. Nearby Ouarzazate we stop at Ksar of Ait BenHaddou the postcard like ancient Ksar. Then the route will take us via the High Atlas Mountains , Tizi n’ Tichka pass (alt. 2260 ) to Marrakech.
Tip: Possible to do the tour other way around. Or add a day and drop off or pick up can be in Essaouira instead.
