This is one of our classic desert tours, a well-paced adventure that only involves one day of long driving. We designed this luxury desert tour from Marrakech to provide as much immersion in South Morocco as possible on a three-day itinerary. As a result, you can admire the peaks of the High Atlas, visit the UNESCO-protected Ksar of Ait BenHaddou and ancient Pasha residents of Telouet, and walk in the UNESCO Biosphere palm grove forest of the Draa Valley.
What’s more, you will stay in some unforgettable locations and accommodations, including a restored ancient Kasbah, private luxury villas inside palm groves, and, of course, a canvas tent nestled between the desert peaks.
If you’re short on time but still want an unforgettable experience in Morocco’s Sahara Desert, this adventure is for you! Read the full itinerary below to find out more! And please don’t hesitate to contact us if you have any questions for the Desert Luxury Camp team.

Marrakech
This is a fantastic, accessible tour that everyone can enjoy. But please bear in mind the long-distance drive on the last day, especially for elderly people and younger children.
There’s no need to bring any special equipment, but we ask you to please bring a hat, sunscreen, and sunglasses if you are traveling in summer. We also strongly recommend wearing longer pants when riding camels (as opposed to shorts/skirts) and light sports shoes rather than sandals as the latter may slip off.
Winter nights are cold, so pack a warm jacket and even a hat for additional warmth. Sand gets everywhere too, so if you have expensive equipment, keep it in zip-lock bags to protect it from sand grains.

On the first day of this luxury vacation in Morocco, your driver will collect you from your hotel or riad in Marrakech. We drive along the Tizi n’Tichka mountain pass, a stunning road across the High Atlas. Along the way, we visit the best Kasbah in the area — Glaoui Kasbah — and the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Ait BenHaddou.
Our descent into Ouarzazate begins. We pass and continue along barren gorges before reaching Agdz. Here, we descend further into the long, impressive river valley of Draa. We spend the night in the oasis of the Draa Valley.
Today’s drive takes us along the valley before the peaks of the volcanic mountains of Sahro lead us to the desert. We pass some small typical towns such as Nekob and Alnif, eventually arriving at the Sahara gateway arch in Rissani. Later, we will start seeing the desert dunes from the road.
We arrive at our Erg Chebbi luxury desert camp. Settle in and then enjoy a memorable camel trek during sundown. Dinner and campfire will follow after sunset.
Rise before dawn to view the desert dunes changing color as the sun rises. After breakfast, we make an early departure to Marrakech. This will be a long day of driving. Setting out, we travel towards Erfourd and Tinerhir. Here, we take a small detour to visit Todra Gorge. After returning to the main route, we continue traveling to Boumalne Dades and Ouarzazate, eventually meeting the High Atlas Mountains. We will arrive back in Marrakech around 6 to 7 pm
Option: Instead of returning to Marrakech, you can travel to Fes, making the last day’s drive shorter.
