    Useful Information

This tour is accessible to all with no minimum age – though consider the driving distances for elderly and small children. The first day drive of this tour is long and therefore can be tiring for small children.

No special equipment needed. Though if you are traveling in summer please bring a hat, sunscreen lotion and sun glasses. For riding camels, longer pants are preferred than shorts/skirts and possibly light sport shoes/tennis rather than sandals that can slip.

Winter nights are cold! So warm jackets and even hats are great addition.

Remember sand gets everywhere so if you have some expensive equipment zip lock bags is to keep it safe from sand grains getting on it.

    Itinerary of the trip

Day 1Casablanca – Midelt – Erfourd – Merzouga and Erg Chebbi Dunes

We collect you in the early morning from your hotel in Casablanca and provide direct transfer to Merzouga and its splendid desert dunes of Erg Chebbi. This is a long day drive of about 10 hours.  At first we travel along the highway and then eventually enter the Middle Atlas continuing onto Midelt, the apple capital of Morocco. Then traveling several hours further to the Ziz palm grove valley and onto the old garrison town of Erfourd. Later we pass through Rissani and arrive in 4WD to the desert luxury camp just in time for the evening. Settle in, watch your first sunset on the desert dunes and then dinner and campfire will follow.

Tip:  Instead of the long day drive you can book the direct flights on Royal Air Maroc. The flights leave Casablanca at 11 pm and arrive at midnight. We can collect you from the airport at midnight.

    Day 2Merzouga Desert Sea

Today is devoted to the desert and the desert activities. In the morning after a leisurely breakfast, we head into the desert dunes on the camel caravan to admire the beautiful landscape and for some adventure to feel as the old caravan traders did traverse the desert on the camels. We’ll enjoy a Moroccan tea ceremony in the shade.

Then we have a picnic lunch on the desert or in the oasis or back in camp. In the afternoon relax in the camp with an incredible view surrounding you.

Day 3Merzouga – Todra Gorge – Draa Valley

Departure this morning towards Erfourd and then further to the Tinerhir that leads to Todra Gorge. This gorge is spectacular with the tall walls looming over the crystal clear water. You may often spot Nomads here. Then we continue towards the Sahro mountains of superb views taking us to the Draa Valley – a rich forest of palm trees and greatest earthen architecture heritage of the world. Here are over 300 typical Berber villages where homes are constructed entirely from the raw earth.

Night in restored ancient Kasbah or luxury villas inside the palm groves.

Day 4Draa Valley - Agdz – Ouarzazate -Ait Benhaddou – Marrakech

Today’s drive takes us to Marrakech. We will be traveling along the valley at the typical villages till we reach Agdz. Here the mountains landscape of barren gorges will take us to Ouarzazate. Nearby in Ouarzazate we stop for lunch and also to have time to visit the UNESCO protected Ksar of Ait BenHaddou. Many movies have been made here and more recently the TV show, Game of Thrones. It is an impressive structure that should be visited on the trip to Morocco. Then we start climbing the peak of the Tizi and Tichka the road pass that crosses the High Atlas to Marrakech.

Tip: The tour can be done in reverse starting in Marrakech and ending in Casablanca either driving or check onto the Royal Air Maroc Flight
