Your Arrival at Our Erg Chebbi Luxury Desert Camp
The small village of Merzouga lies on the outskirts of Erg Chebbi, a vast expanse of the Sahara Desert located in the southeastern corner of Morocco. Our luxury desert camp is located a thirty-minute drive from the village. Merzouga sits by itself amidst countless, ever-changing sand dunes. There are nearly 200 desert camps in the area, but ours is the only camp in this particular part of the dunes. This means you will feel like you have the whole desert to yourself (save for a few nomads!)
No matter where in Morocco you are traveling from, the staff at DLC will ensure you get here safely and comfortably. You can arrange for a car with a personal driver to pick you up from major cities like Marrakech, Fes, and Casablanca; and if you are taking the bus into Merzouga from elsewhere, you can expect to be picked up in town and transported to the dunes.
When you arrive, our staff will introduce themselves and welcome you with traditional mint tea. By the end of your stay, our team will feel more like family! We will then show you to your air-conditioned tent. There is an electricity supply inside, so you can charge your phone, laptop, and camera batteries before bed, and enjoy ambient lighting if you stay up late reading.

Facilities and Activities at Our Luxury Desert Camp in Erg Chebbi
Our Erg Chebbi luxury desert camp has numerous accommodation options, from the Royal Camp, Dome Tent, and Superior Camp, as well as the Main Camp. Whichever option you prefer, you can be sure that your tent is fully equipped with a toilet, sink, and shower, all of which will make you feel like royalty, especially after a day out in the dunes!
In the colder winter months or during the heat of summertime, there is air conditioning to warm you up or cool you down. You can also request heating blankets during the winter if needed. No matter when you visit, we ensure so you sleep comfortably!
Desert Luxury Camp may be the only accommodation of its kind in the world, as there is an in-ground swimming pool just a moment’s walk from each guest’s tent! The pool is located within its own pavilion tent, which keeps it clean and cool. This is the absolute perfect place to escape the heat of the Sahara and relax in the middle of the afternoon.
There are multiple places to lounge, find shade or shelter, or a corner to curl up throughout the camp. Rest assured you will find your own space and feel as if you have the whole place to yourself.
The main dining tent is where you’ll spend mornings sipping coffee, lunch hours chatting with fellow guests, and the evenings over long, luxurious dinners. After the evening meal is served, you’ll be treated to a night of local music and even dancing! If the weather permits, you’ll take in a view of the stars under the vast night sky, along with a large bonfire erected in the centre of the camp.

Find a More Remote Adventure at Our Erg Chigaga Desert Camp
Of course, our luxury desert camp in Erg Chigaga offers a similar experience to that in Erg Chebbi, but there also some important differences that can sway your final decision. Our camp in Erg Chigaga is in a much more remote part of the desert. Taking a bus from Marrakech will take you as far as M’hamid. From there, the camp is still an off-road drive away (less than two hours).
The area around Erg Chigaga is less developed, so there is less infrastructure and access to facilities in the immediate vicinity. However, this means that visitors to our Erg Chigaga camp can enjoy a feeling of true desert isolation.
There are fewer accommodation options at our Erg Chigaga desert camp, with options including the Private Camp, Dome Tent, and Main Camp, all of which will make you feel right at home. Much like Erg Chebbi, every option has an electricity supply and a private bathroom with a flushing toilet, a sink, and a shower with hot and cold water.
